Adding 3rd brake light from '96 to a '98

I searched the old forums to no avail.

What do I need to do to mount a 3rd (interior) brake light from a '96 into a '98 that never had one.

My '98 has its 3rd brake light mounted on the spoiler - it does not have one inside behind the rear window.

I want to get rid of the spoiler and the trunklid on the '98 and replace them with a plain trunklid from a '96.

Buy a third brake light. Install on rear dash (?). Splice wires from spoiler's brake light onto new third brake dash.

IIRC, the spoiler equipped ones don't have the mounting provisions.

I could be wrong, though.
