Pre 98 Dash Clock great for recontent

I am selling the dash clock. It works perfectly except the housing in the back has to be taped or glued together (will not show but clip holding both halves together separated when I pulled the clock out of my dash). I will also include various D-sub connectors from Radio Shack which will make installation a snap. Asking $15 + shipping.

No, the style is commonly referred to as the "pre-98 clock", not for its age. My '99 SVT didn't come with a clock as the clocks were only available as a factory option on pre-98 Contours. Afterwards, they were replaced with a "Contour" plate. I bought this clock from a dealership 3 years ago to recontent the clock on my SVT but as I am restoring the car to stock, am looking to replace this piece. (I have misplaced the Contour plate).

I've never heard of it called anything other than a 98 clock. The term Pre-98 should mean 95-97 only.

Clocks were not a factory "option" for Pre-98's only. If 98 includes clocks, then how would that make any sense?

I think it makes sense now.

It sounds like you thought the clock you bought was only in 95-97 Contours. A 95-97 clock (as seen here) only fits the 95-97 bezel. And the 98 clock will fit 98-00 only.
