    Default 3.0T Alive.....kinda

Well, finished the 3L swap yesterday and got the car fired up. Now, it is only on a base tune and it drives just fine, a little rich but to be expected.

Maybe I am a being paranoid becasue I have put so much time, money, and effort into this motor/car but after about 60 miles of driving it yesterday I stopped and got out of the car with it still running and it seems to have a clatter sound coming from the rear of the engine, and it sounds up high (Cam area).

This has me totally spooked so I didnt bring the car back home to IL with me, it stayed in Kzoo, MI. Again, I could be totally over reacting and its regular engine noise. I am using the SVT flywheel with spec stage 3, is it at all possible I could be experiencing some clutch chatter and getting mixed up...that would be embarassing, but at least would calm my nerves.

I have a MONUMENTAL favor to ask anyone (Todras) who is somewhat near Kzoo, MI that has a more extensive experience with 3L swaps. Would anyone be willing to take a listen/drive of the car sometime this week to either confirm my fears or tell me to just stop freaking out.

Without some other type of input I am completely afraid of dynoing at SZ on Friday. Depending on what happens with the car today thru Wednesday, will determine if the car goes to SZ with me or not.

Anyway....if anyone can/will/wants to do me that favor I would be eternally grateful and generous with beer buying this coming weekend.

if it's on the passenger side it's most likely the timing chain moving around in there.

I mean, can you hear it like standing int he street with the hood closed? or do you have to be up on it?? cause if it's not overly loud that's most likely what it is.

I was not able to decern if it goes away with the clutch pressed or not as I did not have anyone else around to do that while I was listening outside. It doent seem to be coming from the timing chain but more from the rear valve cover area. Doesnt seem to be low enough to be bearings.

I mean it has oil pressure (70psi) at cruise, gauge is tapped in behind AC compressor. The noise does not get louder while driving at any speed.

I really hope I am just being paranoid. I will get another chance to mess with it Thursday night...after that I will be seeing everyone at SZ. The more the merrier as far as ears/opinions/suggestions go.

Special thanks, to Todras for the phone call today to talk it through with me. I know it is hard to describe automotive noises, especially when it may be completely normal.
