I have had my 98.5 SVT since 05. It bit the dust in early 2011 and I have been reading about these swaps of and on since then. I have a friend with mechanical experience and so I am suddenly serious about it. I purchased a 2005 escape after reading many posts, it seemed to be a favorite but I can't seem to find many details from those who have done it. From your 3L swap thread it looks like you used an escape. If so you may be able to answer a question or two. I wanted to do a FULL 3L SWAP for simplicity but my friend says that the intake manifold on the escape will not work. The throttle plate sits at the wrong angle. I am also looking for information on what to about the return-less fuel line. I’m trying to decide right now if it would be better to use the 2.5L UIM and LIM and do a ported swap instead. Any info you could pass on or point me to a thread would be greatly appreciated.
