Joe (Blu_Fuz) thought maybe you could help me out. He doesn't have the shift cables because his car is the older style from 95.

This is my situation. I am doing the 3L swap and it's going back in tomorrow. On top of the transmission there is a plate that has a spring on it that extends down into the transmission (sorry I am not sure what it's called). The shifter cables connect to it also and there is a white plastic piece that covers it too (hopefully you know what I am speaking of).

Is there a "correct way" that this must align or put back in? Or will it only go in "one" way? I am worried I am going to screw it up and am having trouble getting help on it because I am not sure exactly what it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hello ive always been looking thru this website and i noticed that u really know quite a bit about the csvts and i was wondering if u could answer a question for me. ive got a 2000 csvt and all my windows stopped working besides the moonroof and its not the fuse or switch in the drivers door, but 1 thing forsure is that is probably a short and what im asking is do u know if there is a common spot or short that happens in these cars? b/c i took it into a shop and they wanted somewhere around $65/hr to look at it and fix it. if u dont have a clue its all good, thank u
