Our Contour just completed the 24 hour endurance road race held by Chumpcar World Series at Virginia International Raceway. The car held up the entirer race with the exception of a few self induced quick repairs. This is our 3rd endurance race with the Contour and the car has finished all 3. First was a 14 hour race at Road Atlanta back in Feb. Then was a 14 hour race at Daytona back in May. Overall, it's been a relatively trouble free car so far. We put over 1300 miles on it at VIR under heavy use. Hope it keeps holding up. We did take a hit to the front that will require replacement of the passenger headlight assembly. Anyone got a lead on a cheap replacement?

Car is a Paul Radisich Mondeo tribute car.

You can follow our exploits on our website.

Yes - they are. Unfortunately, we tore up the lip on one of them during the mishap and need to find a single SVT E0 rim along with that passenger side headlight assembly. Any leads for cheap or free parts appreciated.

ohhhh so you're who bought that car. Congrats on the race! love that little conturd. previous owner misses it dearly from what I've heard haha

That is F'N awesome .

What "small" issues did you run into besides the wall ?

Other small issues:
The relocated battery came loose in the trunk and the car died right at pit entrance during a planned stop. We pushed it to our pit area. Battery was well secured to the solid base, but the base was welded to sheetmetal. The weld failed and the base and battery got loose. Lost 1/2 hour bolting the base to the frame.

Other issue was running out of gas. We had a driver go an entire 2 hour stint without a caution flag. When he was ready after 2 hours driving to come in pit lane was blocked by a stalled car so we sent him around for another lap. He ran out of gas at the end of the straight and had to get towed in. Lost about 15 minutes waiting for the tow and getting it refueled. Started right back up.

Rubbin is racin and we sure got a few racing stripes during the event!!

We seem to have the car decently sorted right now. Just not quite fast enough to stick with the top teams. Working on a Ford Probe GT as the next generation car for the 2013 season.

Be glad to take any old faded headlight. We can polish it up and make it work.

Thanks
