I have no idea what a good thread would be that we could all post in. Maybe we could talk about the current cars we have or have had? Seems kinda boring, but I think we could manage not to get pissy with a topic like that.

That's the best I can remember at the moment. I might have missed one. Twenty vehicles in my life, and I'm 34. Sheesh. I suppose it was inevitable, as my first word was "car."

I'd ditch the X 1/9 in a heart beat if I could find an Alfa Romeo GTV6 in decent shape. I've always loved the look of those. Or an older, late 60's/early 70's, GTV. :drool:

It had something like 460,000 miles on it. Had 415,000 when I bought it. It had had ONE engine/tranny rebuild in its life, and that was somewhere around 250,000 miles. Needless to say, I am not near as leery of high mileage cars as most people are, and because of that experience I would buy another Benz in a heartbeat if I had the dough. Plus, I was 20, and was ready for something new. At that time in my life I was averaging a different vehicle every 6 months or so, and wanted something 2 door and sporty. So I traded it in on the Daytona. Yes, I traded a Benz on a Daytona. I miss BOTH those cars. I loved that Daytona too!

It WAS a sweet Benz. Had a HUGE back seat! Red w/ tan leather interior. At the time I was dating a cop's daughter, but I'm pretty sure most people in town thought I was dealing something, being 19 with a bright red Benz! :D Got really bad gas mileage though. I probably averaged around 10 mpg. Granted, gas was less than a buck/gal then, but I was a kid making less than $4/hr.

Somewhere I have pics of many of these cars. I'll have to do some digging around and see if I can find any of them.

I should be adding the the stable, hopefully today. Going to pick up a '96 Contour GL, Zetec, ATX with a wiring harness problem. Will be paying between $200-$250. Brand new tires. This will be my new project and I'll be running it in the BA2BE Rally in May. The Fiat is now for sale.

Immediate plans are to sort out and track down the bad wiring. It is past the mileage limit on the recall, so I have to do it myself. After that I'll swap out some body panels from my parts car, and I'll probably cut the factory moon roof from the parts car and install it in the new one. I don't know if I'll stick with the tires/wheels that are on it. 14s. I'm going to get to run The Dragon on the rally, and something more aggressive might be warranted.
