Hey folks needs some assistance. 1999 V6 Cougar

I'm in the bay area (east bay) and am having some issues with my 2nd cougar. Thats right Ihave 2. The first one spun a bearing 3 years back and has been sitting waiting for a motor swap for some time now. In the midst of buy parts and getting it ready I've been driving another cougar in which has started making a really loud sound. It is RPM dependent and sounds like its coming from the rear bank. The car runs normal with this sound. It sounds like it could be the timing chain slapping. Possible broken guide. I unfortunately don't have the tools available to tear down this vehicle to check that. Does anyone have any info or the number to a reliable mechanic that may be of use to me? I'd really like to et my car up and running again.
