There are a couple silver parts guides / mounts that hold the side skirt up and in with the body. These mounts look like they are riveted into the body (I am unsure the exact way they are mounted).

Pic for reference (4x running along the bottom):

It is extremely annoying to sand next to them with a 6" or 5" Dual Action as well as by hand(also time consuming).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

they are indeed riveted. you either leave them or drill out the rivets and then reinstall the clips after painting.

It is a plastic rivit so you can just put a screwdriver between the bracket and the body and pry them out. Drilling can be done too, but isn't needed.

Your abilities confuse me  .

Thanks guys. I like to ask before I do. I have never used a rivet gun before and very frequently question my abilities. But I like to ask everyones opinion and experience before I do.
