Rear bumper sag

Are reading through the forums, I get the feeling that the rear bumper is supposed to have some sort of clip that helps anchor it to the rest of the bodywork. I didn't see any on mine when I took the bumper on and off, and I didn't find a definitive answer on the forums. Is this a snipe hunt, or are rear bumper clips for real ?

There should be clip in the middle of the bumper about 6-8 inches from the corner of the trunk on each side. Haven't taken the Tour bumper cover off recently, but on most cars, they are there at the top.

Is it something that can come off, or maybe I didn't notice it when putting my bumper back on before ?

I took the rear bumper off, and while I noted the small clips on 2 parts of the bumper, I can't see how they would mount to the car body. Is there something missing I need to get ?
