Ok you guys saw the emails from Doug at 3G Services. Heres the low down:

Carbon Fiber IMRC covers
$145 for 5-10 orders
$138 for 10+ orders

Fiberglass in primer (not sure what color this is yet, but I will find out)
$115 10+ orders.

These will not have UV clearcoats so that helps with the cost (I also believe this is what caused the yellowing on the older GB, just a guess though)

I'm interested in the CF. Is there a big issue with these yellowing?? I am planning on showing the SVT alot, so it may see more sun than usual. Could we get them to put the UV clearcoat on and how much more would that cost, just out of curiosity. I wouldn't mind clearing it myself either for that matter, but where can I get a UV clear?

-Kyle

$145-$138 and it will most likely yellow? :blackeye:

I think I'll just get a Pre-98 plain black cover if that's the case.

Probably around what it was the last time I tried setting this up, $175. It's extra time and material to do that.

Obviously you didn't read the post. While this is only an assumption I can look into getting a guaranteed answer.

Can you get red CF? will it be extra?

Here is the answer to that very question that Doug sent me today:

There is very little carbon kevlar on the market and it is too high priced. I am not offering colored carbon kevlar at this time. I have to buy a minimum and I get stuck with the left overs.

I will have to wait untill a later BG when colored CF is available. Thanks for trying.

$175 extra, or total. If it's extra, yikes!! I guess I'd be willing to pay 175 total for a IMRC cover that will not yellow since there aren't that many of them out there.

No it would not be $175 extra, but $175 would probably be the new price of the CF cover with a UV coating (I'm guessing). If there is enough interest in a UV coat option I will inquire about it.

Also I asked him about the yellowing and about the number of orders (if they could be mixed, ie 6 CF and 5 FG orders) and here is there reply:

-----------------------
Mike, I am only just now hearing about the yellowing problem. Mine were Vinyl ester. We did a clear UV urethane top coat to protect from the sun. It is possible that the one guy that was doing Epoxy covers had some yellowing problems. I can't comment on the yellowing since I haven't seen it.

The fiberglass would be primered, and not have any weave showing. The prices would be ok to remain the smae if we got group sales to cover the minimum even though it was a combination.
