Here are a few updates with this project.

Decided to rip the old roll bars out and go with a FIA spec full multi point rollcage.

Remember kids weight is the enemy!... So while doing the cage, going to strip out everything that is not needed out of the car, this includes uneccessary wires too. Every ounce will be removed, only the bare minimums will be kept as I still have an ambitious road trip of driving this car to Florida and California which will total more than 6-7000 miles. Yes the car still has number plates on it and will be somewhat road legal.

Enough reading/typing/talking (what ever you'd like to call this).

I bought a very very powerful vacuum and did this to the interior of the car!

I decided to build a birds nest while adding a "cage"...

Setting fire to the car (notice the smoke pouring out of the rear wheel wells)... The inner fender liners did catch a bit of fire, its okay, a few ounces saved by the burning/melted rubber.

Rear section almost finished.

Front drivers side almost done, missing one bar in there still. The X bar for the door is actually bent towards the outside at the X for added safety incase of a side intrusion. You can tell a little by looking at the windshield bar, from this angle it looks not to be straight, but it is actually straight when you look at it from the side.

This is it for now, I'll keep updating the thread this week on how to ruin a perfectly driving car.

Oh and we'll find out if it will actually start after messing around with the wiring.

Oh how I drool soo much. Looks awesome as always Mani, I'm afraid to go through all my wiring like that.

I cant tell from the pic but it looks like your planning on just pushing those cars out of your way in the corners? New bumper support?

Hahah hopefuly no contact. Put that there for mainly towing reasons, you can see the red tow strap dangling from it. I'll cut a slit through the bumper to feed it through. It is a very subtle tow hook/strap since I don't like the big cup holder looking things, especially if the car is being street driven as well.

More bars for the jungle gym! Getting there! Needs a half a dozen more bars and it'll be time to start putting the car back together.

Very nice! did you weight it before so you can get an after?

Nope. But will do an after weigh-in.

Taking all the unnecessary wiring out.
Replacing front window regulators with manual ones and installing crank windows
All doorpanels will be made from CF
Carbon fiber dash (if budget permits)
Carbon fiber sunroof plug
All lexan windows except the windshield

If it weight in at 2800 lbs I'd be more than happy.

Often race in the rain, almost impossible to get the fog out of the windshield without heat. Its a sacrifice in weight I have to make.

They make inline blowers for defog. It's something in adding back in some time soon and can provide you info if you need.
