Radio--Turns off, resets, and blows speakers...

In my SVT I have stock radio and speakers. Occasionally when the car is on, the radio randomly turns off, then back on, then resets the audio settings such as base and treble and speaker output.

Also this may be a seperate issue, but the speakers all started going on my car and making horrible noises, then they died. I installed new ones and then soon they did the same thing.

Any thoughts, I have heard a couple of things such as electrical malfunctions, amp problems, all the way to faulty ignition switch. It may be something enitrely different. Im not sure where to start or if anyone has had these same problems

:help:

EDIT: When I say radio, I mean my headunit with all the buttons and cd player on it

well for the radio cutting out & back on- have you checked the harness plug in the back of the radio to make sure it isnt loose. to where the vibrations could cause it to loose connection @ times,
for the speakers i would suggest bypassing the factory amp. they seem to go out quite often & cause problems. when mine went out the speakers would cut in & out all the time.

Ahhh i will have to check that. would that cause a resetting of my audio settings such as treble, bass, fade etc. it doesnt cause me to lose my presets or time.

Ok so would you recommend replacing the oem\ford amp with a new one, getting an aftermarket amp, or can i just bypass the amp and dont need one at all. i can do wiring, but im not an audio tech lol.

well if your time & presets dont go out then it may not be staying disconnected for long. but if its like that everytime it may not be the connection then. its more like something internally with the radio. i would suggest just getting an aftermarket radio in there.

as for the amp if your not putting a sound system in then i would just bypass the amp. if you put an aftermarket headunit in it will have an amp built in to it to power the interior speakers. u will just have to extend the wires, its very easy to do. i tried searching for the how to but i cant find it. mayb some1 else can chime in that knows where it could be. if not i can try to write u up a how to.

you can get the harness @ bestbuy. or i have seen people on here have them

or here it is from bestbuy

Yea, I will prob get a new HU when time permits and I dont think it will be too hard to extend the wires. Im very electrically able, and I have done other electrical jobs so i can splice, solder, heatshrink, all those nice things and more.
