2000 Contour SVT 3L Hybrid
Well, I was on my way to lunch today and the CEL lit up. Pulled out the XCAL and got p0704 and p1518. I know p1518 is IMRC stuck open, and looked up p0704 to be a clutch switch malfunction. The odd thing is that first, the car starts, which I wouldn't expect if the clutch switch wasn't working, and second, that the front bank runners (which are attached to the back via the little rod) appear to be fully closed when the car is off.
The only thing that I can think of that could possibly cause these weird problems would be the fact that I cleaned my engine bay up a little with Simple Green on Saturday, and that it took until now for the codes to be set. I didn't use a whole lot of cleaner, and sprayed the rinse water very lightly.
I'll unplug the IMRC and clean out the connection tonight to see if it helps.
