Which oil is best for the Zetec? Quanity?

I mean weight, not brand. Everyone has their preference there and we aren't going to change anyones minds.
I have no owners manual, so I don't know what Ford recommends. I assume 5w30. 5 qts?

owners manuals are available from Ford online. I always used 5w-30 @ 5 qts

The Zetec holds 4.5 quarts. Chances are the car will use some, especially with higher miles, so keep the extra half quart in your trunk. If it doesnt use any oil, then you only need to buy 4 qts for your next oil change.

I always ran 5w30 Mobil 1 in mine.

my owners manual says to use 5w30 4.5qt, since you are in Michican, I'd stick with that for the cold weather
