oil leak 96 contour. what is this mystery hole?

soooo... i successfully swapped my water pump and there is no longer any coolant leaking. yay! btw the chilton's manual really didn't help much.

now i'm leaking oil because either A) i knocked something loose and lost it or B) i took something apart and never put it back even though i ended up with zero extra parts when i was done putting everything back together haha.

maybe one of you fine gentlemen could identify that nice shiny hole in the middle of my picture that seems to have leaked about a quart of oil in the past week

that is a bolt hole on the oil pump. you do not have had to remove that bolt to replace the water pump, but its obviously not there. you might be able to just put the bolt in and be ok, but you might have to pull the oil pump and replace the gasket
