How do I remove the shift tower?

Thread & glue fix worked, but nylon bushing on the right side of the tower was worn and kept popping out. ​So I did ghetto fix #2. Drilled a hole in the steel arm near the bushing channel. Put in three small washers to the right of the bushing to make if flush with the steel arm. In the drilled hole I put a small bolt & nut securing a large, thin1.25" washer to block the hole so that the bushing can never come out.

Finally I have confidence that everything will hold together for years to come. Eight hours for a one hour job.
 
On the parking brake boot attachment, all four plastic tabs snapped. so now my boot just flops around with no attachment. Anyone have this experience and a fix for it?
