egr delete or plug

ive read some discussions on stopping the egr by using the block off plate under the egr itself and keeping it inplace. is that going to cause a check code making it useless? might as well remove it and cap it?

A little late to respond to this, but if you block off the EGR it should cause the same codes as completely removing it would. The DPFE sensor reads the flow through the EGR tube, and if that is zero (whether blocked or removed), you're going to get the code. I would remove it and cap both ends it if you don't want it flowing.
