Exhaust Manifold leak

On my 99 SVT, I have a "puttering" noise at idle and low rpms. I've pretty much convinced myself that its an exhaust leak at the rear (RH) exhaust manifold. However, I'm not sure if is a broken weld within the runners (b/c the welded-on heatshield blocks my view) or if its perhaps just a bad gasket. I have 135K on the vehicle -- all stock hardware.

Any thoughts? Not a lot of room to get in there and do diagnostics. Thx for your help!
 
You will have to jack the car up and listen to where it is coming from. Once you have a general idea, Run your hand hovering over the exhaust tubes trying to feel air hitting your hand.

You probably have an exhaust leak from the donut ring between your y-pipe and your cat pipe flange.
