I am wondering if anyone has a duratec out of their car right now that they could do some measurements on. I need the measurement from left to right (trans mating surface to farthest flywheel on the passenger side) front to back (cover to cover) and if anyone has a diagram of the trans bolt pattern. If no one has a diagram, if you could measure the bolt pattern in such a way that I could reproduce it. The flywheel diameter and it's center distance straight down from the centerline of top bolts of the engine to tx mount would be of great help. Also, if anyone has the input shaft spline count and diameter would be great also. I am trying to gauge the plausibility of swapping in a 2.5 into my '82 Escort. And don't worry, I know I'm nuts. But when you have access to a well stocked machine shop, the impossible can become merely difficult

input shaft on the trans is 1" x 25 splines. i dont have an exact number off hand but the length should be roughly 20". ill see if i can find out more info for you.

here you go. bellhousing pattern for a 99 Duratec 3L

That is awesome. Scares the crap outta me, though. I may just look at how the trans mounts and check on swapping that in also. Does the auto trans attached to a 2.0 have all the same mounting geometry of a manual trans V6? Well, time fire up the old drafting board.

I mean chassis to trans mounts. I have access to a 1995 2.0 Mystique that I can look at.

well, my 97 Zetec had a different trans mount than my 00 SVT. not sure if that was a year change or if its a Zetec/Duratec difference.

pretty sure the trans mounts were different on my wifes zetec and my v6. Hers was a 99, mine a 98, so it wouldnt have been a difference from updates between model years.
