Did lemons in a contour and cooked the motor (radiator hose popped) car went a good 10 laps running 300+ degrees :). Motor is cooked, looking at either replacing (stock 2.5), going to a 3.0L hybrid, or wondering if anyone has done a ford five hundred motor in one of these (do they even have the same bolt pattern?) Suggestions/leads on motors appreciated!

Your not going to want to do the 3L hybrid or 3.5 duratec. Easiest swap is obviously the 2.5, but for a little extra work you can do a port matched 3L, and for a little more extra work and money you can do an oval port 3L. Search, theres info everywhere on here.

SEARCH, USE THE SEARCH! you can not use the 3.5 with out major major major modifications

although some pics of your lemons car would be sweet. I've been waiting for someone to use a tour.

The duratec 35 uses Variable Valve timing (VVT). Basically to much work/money to get this engine working properly.

Stick with non VVT 3.0 and you should be good to go.

Fixing the gas tank - it was leaking around the filler neck to tank and we couldn't figure it out/how to get it to seal so we sawed it off and made our own;
