New CEG'er
Hello everyone I intend to build a 3.0 Duratec and fit it into a BMW Compact for rallying here in the UK
Over here the Duratec known as AJ30 is a very forgotten engine but from reading the forum it has lots of potential for horsepower and reliability
I am starting with a brand new engine from here

My plans are to have the heads ported, do you think the valve springs, retainers etc will cope with the cam and rev limit upgrades
Use Piper JAGV6BP320 camshafts and vernier pulleys, not sure whether to retain the VVT or not perhaps you can comment

Individual throttle bodies, my choices are 45mm, 48mm or 50mm again your comments would be appreciated

Dry sump system Ford/Jaguar V6 3 stage

Clevite bearings
ARP Head and Main bearing studs
Forged Con Rods, not decided on make yet there is a UK company producing them but seem a little expensive

Pistons are currently a bit of a problem, obviously forged with compression at 11:1, I have to use standard pump fuel so do you think 11:1 is the limit or could I go higher. I may have to have them custom made as the heads on the AJ30 differ from the US models, there are no hydraulic lifters, cams act directly onto the buckets with shims and the combustion chamber is a different shape

Do you have any recommendations for a piston supplier
Management will be DTA S 80 Pro which is capable of running sequential injection, coil on plug plus the VVT PWM signal if required

I would like to see 320 - 340BHP with a rev limit at 8000rpm do you think this is achievable
Please feel free to comment, criticize or advise all help appreciated
