Today I replaced the rear struts in my SVT. Last fall I had purchased a full set of SVT struts from another CEGer and I had put the rears on my wifes Mystique. Well since I now have the SVT I had put the new fronts on this car in the spring. I finally purchased a new set of aftermarket struts to put on my wife's Mystique. Swapped the SVT set off her car onto my car and then put the fresh set onto her car.
Welll I've fixed my flashing air bag problem by changing out the clockspring. In case anybody is wondering the clock spring is nothing more than a really long flat ribbon conductor wound up like a spring which contracts of loosens up depending on which direction you turn the steering wheel. There is a plug at each end which is where my old one was broken. One end had seperated from the strip. I also picked up a replacement trunk side liner. The previous owner had cut the left side piece in half.
Well my car has been up and running for a couple of weeks now. After installing the large fuses the fans work fine. Found out that either I need a new clockspring in the steering wheel or I put it in wrong. Also the A/C isn't working, I checked everyting except the compressor. It just won't cycle, need to check there for voltage.
Well SVT #81 is offically back on the road.
Brapple and I finished it up this afternoon. Got a couple of bugs still. We took it out for a short ride and got back just in time for it to start boiling over. It appears that over the winter I had stolen the 60a fuse for the cooling fan so my wife's car could have heat. It also creaks alot from the rear struts. Not sure if it's just from sitting so long or I need new ones.
