I read somewhere that the SVT models had hydraulic (?) trunklid lift supports. Anyone able to confirm that for me? (I looked in the factory repair manual and it doesn't show this.)
Basically, what I'd like to do is adapt those to my '99 Contour LX (w/spoiler).
Any ideas? Bueller? Anyone?
(Thanks!)

Doesn't every Contour trunklid have hydraulic supports?
Find any juckyard contour with the supports, it should bolt right up.

My hydraulic lifts are retarded in the back. The trunk always falls on my head
Maybe I need new ones? I always have to force the lifts to open all the way.

There are two different sets of trunk struts. One for trunks with spoilers and one for trunks without. So if you put a spoiler on your spoilerless trunk, the struts won't be able to support the added weight very well. I know because I've been hit in the head about 3 times already due to this (previous owner's fault.)

Thanks for that, I need to get more soon, it's to the point where I have to have 2 people, or wedge something in the trunk release. :troutslap:
I planned on getting a lip, so I'll just get spoiler lid struts.
