Been looking at some of the Motors here and am wondering if it'd be possible to fit the contour SVT parts to my Mk1 Mondeo. Is there any parts in the UK or am I looking at importing all Stateside or is there anywhere closer to home to get the parts?
Anyone any ideas?

I've been trying for 4 years to find an SVT front bumper to fit on my Mk2, just as a Mk2 Mondy bumper does not fit a Mk1 the SVT will not.

just cut the bottom half off of both bumpers and mold the bottom svt bumper to the upper mk2 bumper. people do this to have an svt kit on their pre-98's

Similar to this where I used a modified bottom half from an MG ZR bumper
The only thing is I want the real thinghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p230/btcc93/DSC_0050.jpg

Not really,
you actually would use the top 25% of your Mk2 Mondeo fascia and the bottom 75% of the SVT fascia, once they are molded together everything should line up. as stated above, a prime examlple is how the pre98 guys mold the pre98 w/ the SVT:

The problem is getting hold of an SVT bumper over here in the first place, I would have no problems with the modifications, we just can't get them. Even the UK used car/ parts dealers specialising in American cars can't or don't want to know.

You may want to send bagged a PM. he usually has a line on stuff contour related. He may even know someone familiar with shipping parts of that nature to the UK (long shot, but worth asking I guess)

shipping would cost eleventybillion more times than the bumper is worth. i wouldnt even bother.

There's a bunch of SVT Contours down here... I counted about 6 or so just in this local area, so I'm sure there's more around Germany.

if you ever find what you are looking for, you can contact Kuehne & Nagel Birmingham @ (phone) 121.625.2468 and ask for someone in ocean import and someone in air import. Ask them for quotes on moving this frgt.
try (if you can) to make it a company to company move.
Tell them that joseph from Kuehne & Nagel Detroit will assist in moving the frgt and maybe we can move it at cost for you which wouldn't be as much as you think.........

How can that be?! Just sounds crazy that even a few made it over there. I wish I knew how many CSVT's ended up overseas!

AAFES sells Fords (and Chryslers) tax free on base, so I'm sure they sold some SVTs... otherwise people like me brought them over.

So if you had to guess on how many CSVT's made it outside of the country, what would you think number wise?

Just curious on how you would go about actually molding the two pieces together? Fiberglass, epoxy? Thanks, Keith

Couldn't tell ya... I just know there's a bunch at this base, so there's bound to be more at other bases around Germany/Italy/UK/NL/etc.
I can tell ya that I have seen more SVT Contours than regular Contours.

Blowtorch!
it allowed me to stick the bumpers together temporarily to check fitment before molding and also made it so i could slightly change the shape of the pre 98
