Konis and Ground Control coilovers with Eibach springs:
I have significantly stiffer rears that came with them (425 vs 280). This dials in a lot of rear roll stiffness without the pain of a swaybar and reinforcing the rear swaybar mounts.
I noticed no difference in ride quality with the stiffer springs in the back, which makes sense - the rear wheel rate is about equal to the front with my setup, and is way lower with GC's stock setup. I assume this is just Ground Control covering thier butts in case someone throws a coilover setup on a car with a very stiff rear bar and oversteers themselves into a tree.
There is a little rust on non-painted metal up in the strut towers. The Konis are still yellow and the GCs look great. Functionally they're 100%
I'm asking $650 shipped. That's right, for the price of a BAT kit you can get the ultimate in handling1
But, here's a deal for you:
I have a camber kit as well. In fact, since I'm parting out my car, I have the camber kit mounted on the struts. If you buy the camber kit too, you get four Koni struts with GC coilover sleeves and springs - assembled, with cut bump stops and struts hats.
This means installation is much simpler. You just pop out your strut/spring assemblies and put mine (with C/C plates) in their place. No spring compressors, no trying to hold the top of the strut while you loosen/tighten the nut on the strut hat, no messy cutting of bump stops.
It also means when you throw it on and drop the car, it's sitting level and at the optimal ride height. I spent a lot of time figuring out just how low I could get the center of gravity before the suspension geometry went all wonky, and the set screws are still holding it at that setting.
$750 shipped for the whole thing, pre-assembled and ready to go. This includes upgraded top plates and nuts, as well as Koni adjustment knobs with the rears modified to fit in the Contour trunk/strut tower space.
PM me if you're interested.
