Anyone know where to find a good carbon fiber hood? I've seen some ok ones here http://www.andysautosport.com/ford/1998_9999_contour/exterior/hoods/carbon_fiber_hoods/ but would be interested in some other styles if there are any available.

IIRC, AAS is no longer carrying parts for the Contour. Anyone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken!
You'll pretty much just have to wait for someone to sell one, so constantly check the classifieds and ebay.

There are options on ebay as we speak! search contour in the ebay motors section, it won't come up under svt if I remember correctly.

Just talked to someone at AAS and they still make the body kit and sell the hoods as well.

Idiot has no idea what fits what years. "fits 95-2000" It irritates me to no end when a seller doesn't even research what he's selling. :nonono:

Maybe you could find out where he's located, then see if there is a CEGer nearby that could check it out for you.

Someone on here bought one from them when they were still being sold for 500 bucks. He had nothing but good things to say. You'd have to look on the old forums for his comments.

If you have a pre-98, it would appear that zxtuner.com still carries CF and fiberglass hoods. Still listed on the website. I think the CF is around $450 shipped.

There are several sites that still carry the pre98. Just google contour carbon fiber hood and they'll pop up.

hey, on the subject, is the only type the contour hoods are made in is fiberglass and carbon fiber? i like the looks but dont want to risk the durability for it.

the cracking issue of those materials vs a urethane hood.

I work with SHOBros Garage. I helped to have the SHO hoods made. We can have hoods made for the the Contour if we can get 10 poeple and a donated hood that will be returned. I also need a tester in CA.

I didnt think they made the trunks anymore. I looked into this a while back and I asked around. People said that only 8 were made. Wow, hopefully this is true and i might invest some money into this.

Thanks, anyone have any pics of these on tours? either AAS or StreetConcept?

Why did they(or whoever) make the CF trunk's lip so big? Its not like our cars put a whole lotta down force on it. If they cut the lip size in half, it would look better IMO.

Yea i was just looking at the lip on the rear cf trunk on streetconcepts last nite (YUCK :P).

Well sorta, just bought the cowl induction one last night (only 550 shipped - 150 less than AAS and same hood) but I wont get it til next week, they said theyre all out because of SEMA.

I was lookin at that one...they do GB's so I was thinking about organizing one...I dont think its the same thing as the AAS as the cowl looks different. It doesnt look as high.
Hammy1105

Look at the underside picture, it looks like its raised up almost as much as the AAS one. Anyways I'd rather not pay 700 for the AAS one for maybe an inch higher cowl, it looks too high.

I like it, I shot them my telle number and are going to get back with a quote for me. Im gonna get one too I think :) Maybe the trunk too. Any thoughts on cutting that scoop out and putting some mesh in there?

I am thinking pretty seriously about buying one this weekend, but if a GB starts, I am willing to wait a few weeks.

Got the hood in yesterday day afternoon and after only 4 hours of cursing and grinding down various parts, the hoods installed and looks beautiful. To those of you who are thinking about a gb for this hood however, I suggest you speak with street concept about increasing the striker on the hood to what OEM standards would be. Mine was about a 1/2" shorter than the OEM and I had to do some serious grinding on the latch bolt holes to bring it up enough to lock down the hood. The other problem is they didnt create a pass thru hole for the top part of the latch and it hits the hood (I had to file that down about a 1/4". But all in all, pretty good for aftermarket fitment. Wish I could put a better picture on here but I had to compress this one for upload standards...

looks nice but not my cup of tea. I've always loved the 'OEM" look and having the oem cf hood gave me comments like "wait a minute.......is that a cf hood" thats the reason I love and esp. on a black car = hottness :)
