I'm a bit surprised that the Japanese driver was faster around the course in the Solstice. The MX5 seemed to have far more body roll in the long sweeping curves than the Solstice. I'd bee interested to see how the Mazdaspeed lines up against the Solstice.

That would be a lot of fun. I think it will be difficult to balance the power in a car this size. With the mods I have performed on my car, I'm plenty fast...I just wish I could shed some weight, something the Solstice has plenty of.

I dunno if you saw the newest Car & Driver, but they pitted a Solstice GXP against a Boxster, and the Solstice outperformed the Box in lap time around the circuit they used. It may not be close to a perfect roadster but it does seem like GM did some stuff right there.

What mods do you have anyways?

Engine:
*AEM intake.
*Flyin Miata downpipe with highflow cat.
*Forge Motorsports diverter valve.
*Stewart Warner boost gauge in dash.
Next up: Larger intercooler.
Weight savings:
*Child seat tie downs.
*Front tie down hooks (baby teeth).
*Washer reservoir and hose removal.
Next up: Spare tire removal.
There are several interior/exterior/misc mods too, but none really influence warranty. Pics of stuff:

Know what...I'm just going to stand up an applaud GM now for creating a fantastic looking car. I could care less about what anyone says...both the Sky and the Solstice are hot, and that's exactly what they needed.
Congrats to them...

I agree. If I were Miataless right now I would defintely be in for at least a test drive.

I like the car a lot when I saw it at Nopi last year. Very hot. However, get the feeling that was almost an advertisement. lol Is GM part owner of road and track?

I can't wait until the Solstice WS6 Ram Air, 5.3L-powered model comes out and becomes to the Corvette what the Cayman is to the 911.
And just so ya'll know, yes it has already been done, and yes you can get your Solstice with a blown LS2 or a fantastically powerful LS7 between the front wheels, not to mention the regular 5.3L and 6.0L models. Just not through GM yet.
