I am the new owner of a 1998 Mercury Mystique with the V6 and the 5 spd that I picked up for autocross and as a daily driver.

I know it's not going to be the fastest thing out there, but, with a set of R-Comps it will be fun, and for the time being, that's enough for me.

I bought it as a project and which I would like to have some words with the fellow who layed out the alternator, otherwise the car is coming along decently.

I'll be putting some bits of the SVT suspension on when funds and time allow, but in the meantime, I'll probably be lurking.

For amusement, here she is at her first autocross....don't mind the temp tags...they're temporary.

Sounds good man! I think you'll find that the car can at least be locally and regionally competitive if you get the nut behind the wheel tightened up enough ;) but I wouldn't count on any national championships, lol.

Welcome Funkyjunky. :)

You don't need to be the fastest as long as you are having fun. OK, I'm sure some will disagree with me on that point. It's all about having fun.

LOL @ Rara.

great to hear!

but instead of going SVT suspension, it would be more cost effective to go Koni Sport kit, it will last longer and do a lot better for handling then an SVT setup.
