I just purchased a 98 svt to make my 80mile roundtrip daily commute a bit more fun. I've always been a big fan of the svt contour and came across a pretty good deal on the one I got. It has a Koni suspension kit, Konig 18 in wheels, magnaflow exhaust, sho shop y, a cold air kit( not sure which brand) and a few other odds and ends.
So far the forum has been very informative, I was a little concerned about the temp gauge reading on the M-A zone but read up on it on here and am less concerned with it now. I also spent the better part of last Saturday replacing a blown out front strut, and the walkthrough in the how-to section was great ( not the most fun job in the world but it would have been alot harder without the forum)
I've been a Mustang guy my whole life and am currently between Mustangs  . My other vehicles right now are a 2005 Grand Prix GXP, It's my wifes daily driver (most fun you can have in a fwd auto with a warranty) and a 1999 Dodge Durango ( something to haul the kids and dog around in on the weekends).
I live in Troy,MO which is about 50 miles NW of St. Louis. Anyways thanks for the info so far and I look forward to contributing to the site.

Here's some pics taken by the guy I bought it from. The Mirko splitter was destroyed when the strut blew in front

The cooling fans should operate when the needle is about over the M. If they do and temp drops, rises to same level, drops in a cycle, it's fine. With A/C on, engine temp will stay lower, at least in my experiece with no weather above 95 degrees...

My lo speed fans don't kick on til the top of the A. According to the gague the car actually runs cooler sitting at lights/traffic than when I run 70+ down the highway. I stressed out about it for about a week or so but it never gets higher than the top of A so I figure its just one of those things.
I've actually found out a few things about the car from searching old forums on here. The previous owner posted on here with several problems he had with the car that I was unaware of.

I had the same problem with my talon. Check out the radiator....could be rotting on might on its way out.

I bought the car from joker2377 (http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/member.php?u=43427), It's a little "ricey" I'll admit but I got what I thought was a pretty good deal considering the engine only had 9k on it and was replaced by a Ford dealer.
