Anyone use the new SCT Xcal 3? I want to get some tuning done on my cobra and im looking at picking up the new Xcal 3 over the old Xcal 2.

You mean xcal3... or the livewire? I don't see any mention of an xcal3 on sctflash.com.

XCAL 3

The X3 is the next generation of our handheld flash device, with increased memory, a larger screen, and most importantly it gives us a stable robust platform to add continued support for new PCM types as they are released from Ford, (and a platform to add future GM CAN support).

Basicly cheaper live wire, or an xcal2 with more memory and a few more functions.

so its just little features that aren't really necessary.....doesn't actually increase your tuning capabilities? What's the price difference?

Did you go to the linky?

The SCT X3 has both end user adjustment and high speed data logging capability. Using the keypad, you can make changes to your timing, fueling, fuel injector size, and dozens of other parameters. You can also monitor and data log all critical parameters by both connecting the X3 to your PC and using the SCT Live Link software, or by using the built-in LCD display.

Sounds like it is a bit more user friendly and easy to use then the Xcal2, does things you would need a laptop for on the Xcal2. Sounds pretty sweet to me

you guys need to check out sniper tuning. there program allows you to tune your own vhicle and download new tunes into your vehicle. it also data logs and creates a base tune as well. their system even allows for 2 vehicle tuning as well as dual power adder tuning. in my opinion this programing is way better than super chips comericalized tuning stuff that you pay way to much money for.

Most people would rather just have the best tuner available which is why they go with warmonger and the x-cal.

Fo sho! Tinkering with your engine on the fly is a sure fire way to roast a new install.

No way I would attempt to dial in a 3L without a base or performance tune from Warmonger.

see thats the best part guys get a base tune then start tinkering for all the different conditions out there and also watch over your air to fuel so you don't blow up your pride and joy. the whole idea of getting one tune and sticking with it forever is just crazy without monitoring it especially if you have some sort of power adder. I just posted up to give you guys more options that are out there that are put together by some really inventive people that open up are computers to leave the dyno shops in the dust so us every day people can do the same things with out paying somebody everytime you do some adjustments on your cars.

Actually from what I've heard Sniper tuning is a spin off of SCT. A guy from SCT left and started it up on his own.

Yeah, when we sell out then we are only ordering xcal3s.
Prices should remain the same for the time being.

For those who don't know: more memory means data logging more variables!
