Removed by mod. Keep it that way.
Place "WTB" post in your local regions forum (Central, East Great Lakes, NW, SE, etc), inside the "regional marketplace" or "local sales" thread at the top.
If I wanted a "WTB" in the general forums, we'd put it in big bold letters that you could.
There is a reason we have a restriction on the classifieds.. we don't know you and could care less what you want to buy until we DO know you. Follow the forum rules, as per the agreement you made when you signed up, or own up to the penalties that stem from not doing so.

OK, but is there anyway to post an ad stating an interest in buying a vehicle without using the classifieds?
I can understand classifieds restrictions for selling, but not necessarily for WTB ads. How will I accumulate 50 posts if I don't even own a car yet? I can't even respond to sellers in the classifieds before the 30d/50post restriction right?
I'm not trying to be difficult in anyway. I'm a grown professional with excellent reputation and seller rating on the Mustang boards I'm on----my point is that I am not a punk kid trying to rip people off on the classifieds.
I would like to find a very nice example of a SVTC and have the funds to buy without hassle for the right car.
Any recommendations of good places to look?
I'm looking here, fordcontour.org, ebay, autotrader.
Like I stated in the deleted post, I have cash waiting for a CLEAN, lower mile or very well taken care of SVT.

Also, just tried to post in the regional forums and I do not have access to post. Any help to get around that?

Welcome... The rules are in place for a reason. One of the reasons its necessary EVEN IF you are wanting to buy something is to make sure that you dont say oh, well ill buy this car. Then two days later your gone and the seller is still stuck with a car.
Aside from that, I would recommend reading, learning, and asking questions about the cars. From there you can decide if you really do want one of these cars or if its not really for you. That will help your post count. Yet DO NOT post whore... One of the most annoying things people do.:nonono:
Edit: The not being able to post is because the Admins/Mods have to validate your account... Give it some time and all will be well.

No. You are more than welcome to look through the main classified section (under the Common Interests thread). If you see a vehicle that you are interested in, PM the seller for more info. Also, scroll down to the "Regional" forums, there are FS/WTB stickies in most, if not all of those forums. Again, until your account is activated you will need to use PM's to contact people.

It's not you, there have been many people scammed by new members posting both FS and WTB ads. By having the fifty posts/30 day rule we get to know you a bit and that makes the people that are buying/selling feel a bit more comfortable.
You can accumulate the fifty posts by answering questions in other threads, posting in your regional forum, asking questions (after doing a search). Posts in Common Interests and Pictures and Videos don't count toward your post count.
You can respond to sellers in the classified section, you need to use the PM function until your account is activated. Once your account is activated you can post in any of the forums on this site, including the classified section.

We understand, but you are new. As I said previously, many people have been taken for a ride by members with few posts. This is just a little protection. I'm sure you will have an excellent reputation here also, give it some time. ;)
Do a search of the Ford dealerships in your area also. Ya never know, you may get lucky and find one there. Also check www.cars.com.
Be patient. You will be set free from this area soon and be on your way to finding what you are looking for, learning all about the Contour and being an valuable member of this site.
Hope I've answered all of your questions. :)

Yeah man... if you saw the old classifieds... oh boy. All you had to do was create a login and get to posting.
It did show the number of posts the user had, but was nearly pointless cause more than half of the time it was a big fat 0 (zero). A lot were spam also, and as the site grew, it became a huge hassle, so the current rules were implemented.
The rules FORCE people to be active in the CEG community. Same thing with this "New Member Classroom." It's only here to attempt to force newbies to read the rules before going around and post eleventy billion times about something that's been covered eleventy billion times already.
It's nothing against a specific person, it's just a blanket protection for all. You'd have to be a desperate, die hard spammer to be involved in CEG for a month and 50 posts just to post a fraudulent ad. Most spammers go ahead and post a porn ad or something anywhere they can, but our super attentive mods usually catch stuff right away (or our "mini-mods" hit the http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/images/buttons/report.gif button on the top of each post to notify us).

We had banned users posting things too!

Thanks guys.
I can't say I 100% agree with some of the reasoning stated, especially the WTB ads, but if you had a problem I can understand the conservatism. I plan to honor all the site rules even though I may never get 50 posts.
I think I've found a car, 2 actually I am interested in:
1) '98 CSVT with only 37,100 miles! Black/MB stock except for tint. 2nd owner bought from original Ford employee owner last fall and it has essentially sat as the current owner is in the military. My concerns are little documentation and that low miles can be bad on some things (still has OE tires for example). However, I currently am driving a '97 SHO I bought only 4 months ago with 9700 original miles. Absolutely no problems with that car despite the super low miles, but every car is different. I will be having the CSVT inspected at a Ford dealer before I make the trip but as long as its in good shape, I will probably buy. What do you think its worth? Any thoughts on what to look for in a low miler with little records?
2) '98 CSVT Silver/MB with 101,000 miles. Car was originally owned by an SVT dealer manager and has ALL records/docs, the owner is the perfect type to buy from. I prefer the silver and the car has some mods I'd like anyway---shifter, light tint, Focus SVT 17s, recent Brembo rotors and good pads, factory wheels and spare new mats (other car lacks SVT mats).
If the 1st car falls through I'll probably buy this one, I thought $5000 was fair due to the condition and records/owner maintenence.
Any thoughts?

If the second car is in good condition, I would go with that one. You have an owner who is VERY familiar with the car and can properly explain its faults.
That describes exactly what I did .. bought a higher-mileage (83K) one-owner SVT with all documentation.
With either 98, you'll want to check the waterpump and wiring harness. The waterpump is crucial for the first one, as it is very likely original. The second one has a high likelihood that the owner swapped it out with one that had a decent impellar (metal or white plastic), judging by the CEG-style mods. Still check out the plastic by the harness to see if it is becoming brittle.

#2 sounds like the better idea

Where are you located? There are a couple CSVT's in my area that aren't listed on here or the other places you mentioned. One is a one owner but it has like 150,000 miles.

Wow, thought most people would say jump on the low mile car. Its about a $1500-1700 difference plus the cost of the 17s and shifter that I'd do anyways. Really depends to me on the what the dealer says after the inspection.
Rouar: Thanks for the heads up, didn't know about the the harness. What's the info there? Definitely knew about the water pump. Car 2 had it done, car 1 not sure but I'd make sure.
Svtoutuofl: I'm just outside of Pittsburgh, originally from Toledo so I would like to stay in reasonable driving distance from either.
Not interested in a 150k miler, looking for the nicer cars out there.
I'm a big Colts fan, so a trip to Indy to buy a car and see a game is a good idea.
