T-Red, itll stand out in the car and add some flava.
Itll still be noticable. Be the first!

What type of paint is good for a heatshield? High temp paint? Is primer needed?

I would say Yes and Yes! Prime is going to help the paint stick to that aluminum service. It's not a bad idea anyway, since a can of primer is ~$3.00, and it takes 10 minutes for a coat to dry.
Then use a high temp paint. Your engine coolant temps get up to 210F, so it's putting of a lot of heat under that hood.

Yeah, I just thought that putting primer down would defeat the purpose of the high heat paint or something. Do you need high heat primer to match?

SVTJON87,
Did you ever end up painting your heatshield? If yes, how did it come out?
