Hey everyone I just picked up a 98 tour to work on for the next few months. Nothing special, just a 4cyl with a blown transmission.
I'm from the NECO boards and decided I wanted something to do over the winter, so why not stick with the same platform.
Plans are to replace the transmission, update the suspension with some new life, and possibly replace the motor as well. The current motor has some high mileage and if I can find a good replacement worthwile to invest in the car I'm going to put it in. If not I'll probably just fix it, make it driveable and move on.
My vehicles include
01 Cougar- Nothing special, just my daily driver
99 Tacoma- Winter beater
78 Mustang II- Sunday muscle

Nice 88 - my buddy (JoeM.) has one with a built 302 and a T5 on it - rocks the house. Fun cars, nice to see one (in much better shape :P )

lol well yeah, I baby it. Nothing really astounding under the hood, just the 302 with headers... If I had the money I'd get a 302 stroker to a 331, but I don't drive that thing enough as it is  . There aren't too many still around, at least in my neck of the woods
Welcome. :)
Nice rides you've got!
Good luck with the project tour.
When you are sprung from the new member classroom, stop down to the north east regional forum and say hi. We have some members in your area. We're also planning a Harry's U-Pull-It (Hazelton) meet for sometime in Nov. I'll make a post probably in mid Oct about when the meet will be, keep a look out for it if you'd like to come along.

Thanks!
Sounds good.
Got the car home today, and I have a lot of work ahead of me! I never realized how stinkin huge the ATX's are:shocked: . Oh well, now to find all the parts I'll need!
Great, keep and eye out for the Harry's thread then. :) It's always a fun time and we usually do lunch afterward. Nothing like going to a restaurant all filthy. :D

There is an ATX rebuild pictorial in the Old CEG: ATX Picture Story (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=tranny&Number=531563&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&fpart=all&vc=1)
The pictures are only there sometimes, so I have saved the pages locally in my PC. It may be possible to upload them to you.

Thanks, I may contact you for some of them. I already have another transmission that is in working order. The only real thing i'm thinking is to add a cooler, which will not be a big deal considering I'll already have the car apart.
