I did the rims and calipers myself. I'm only 17. The rims look better in person.

There are a ton of stuff that you can do...

-Rear drum to disc conversion
-Intake
-Exhaust
-Wash/Wax
-Rims/tires
-de-badge/knauberize
-DEHAZE HEADLIGHTS
-Grille
-Paint various interior and exterior parts

Check out the stickies in all the forums and look at other peoples cars to get some more ideas.

HTH and happy modding!

you could go for some simple touch up things too - like cleaning the haze off the headlights etc.

If it were me, I dont think I would want to accent my drum brakes. Rear caliper conversion is a must.

The problem with a body kit and stuff is that I'm young and work 16 hours a week. I only get half my paycheck (rest to college). So i need cheap stuff. I want an intake, tint, and headlights. I wanna tint my tail lights, some people say that look "noobish" though.

Just concentrate on keeping the car clean and neat -- buff out those headlights, give the car a good wash, wax, and interior detail. Then stand back and see where you're at -- how you're feeling about the car. You may find your projects fall into a clearer order of priority once the car starts to have that cohesive quality that cleanliness brings.

One of the New Cougar guys used Nightshade paint on his taillights and achieved a pretty nice look for short money.

One thing I would recommend against is doing anything superfluous that costs big money. Just save it -- you'll be quite happy with that decision later on.

yeah, stay away from the light tinting. It looks good on some cars, mainly black cars. Buy a lowered suspension, no joke. get some tint (legal), and a decent sound system.
and first thing's first, buy some clay, polish, wax, and get to work. Detailing makes you even more proud of your car.

Its hard to find 6X8 speakers. And can you give me a suggestion for suspension? I really dont know what to look for and I dont have $300+

try craigslist. im sure someone is more than willing to sell and you their slightly used suspension for dirt cheap. Eibach, H&R are two of the best. Or, if you have to, get someone to cut your spring. not the best idea but it works.

Welcome!

Don't cut your springs!!

Keep an eye on the main classified section (under Common Interests). If you see some lowering springs/struts that you are interested in, use the PM feature to contact the seller. Also, check to see if your regional forum has a local classified section. Until you are able to post in the other forums you will have to use PM's to contact other members.

6x8 speakers:
http://www.google.com/search?q=6x8+speakers&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

You can also check out the main classified section under audio and see what is for sale in your price range.

Here is a headlight how-to:

It's very easy to remove the headlight to do this, probably would be easier if they were removed.

I'm about to do that headlight procedure on out F150. Worked wonders on my 01 BMW. brings the car back to life.

Yea they will bolt up but those tires are going to look tiny on your car. I would put a fatter tire on there if I were you. Where are you located?

West Saint Paul, MN. I really want rims and tires but i have almost no money. So I'm looking for deals. Can i just put a fatter tire on those rims or will they just not work in general?

Yes, they will fit.

One word of advice:
No cross posting! I saw you posted this in the wheel and tire forum also.
You will get an answer by posting once in the appropriate forum, trust me. ;)

Any basic spoke design on a contour provides good results, but a heads up, dont be surprised if your car's suspension will look like a monster truck (nasty amounts of wheel gap).

Based on what he used to have them on, they probably wont fit, it looks like his was an accord or a Civic, which use 4x100 bolt pattern. The contour's bolt patten is 4x108.

I would suggest checking the classifieds for some SVT wheels, they can be had for cheap and really do help the appearance of the non-SVT's I think I saw some E0 wheels in there with new tires for only $250

That's why people cross post, they aren't getting a response fast enough so they make another post. You have to give it some time, people will see the post and respond as soon as they can.
Cross posting is against forum rules!

In that ad the seller says:
"will not fit Focus, or topaz/tempo for sure. two paterns on rims."
If they won't fit the focus, they won't fit the Contour. Make sure to double check that issue with the seller.
If they do fit, I didn't check to see, you will still need four tires vs the first set where you will only need one tire. First set may be the cheaper option for you.

Note that since you are able to post in the wheel and tire forum, you are more than welcome to add any links to wheels that you come across in there. You have a thread started and can add whatever you find to that thread instead of starting a new one. ;) So, if you find any more that you are interested in, post in the wheel and tire thread. It will work out better for you, you'll get more advice there. HTH!

You have a PM.

I have a set of 15" SE stock wheels I might sell cheap. Tires are bad though.
