You both used to have glasspacks instead of a resonator, right? I'm starting to 2nd guess my wanting a Magnaflow for X-mas. Do either of you, or anyone else for that matter, know what brand of glasspack you used? I don't want one that sounds like crap, but I don't want to have to put headers on just yet, either. ;) I was looking a summit, they have a summit brand for $22. My brother used the summit brand for his truck, and so far no probs. Any input would be helpful. Ever since Ryan pointed out my exhaust leak, the car is definately too quiet. Thanks guys.
Allen still has his glasspack, mine was replaced with the Magnaflow.
IMO, don't get the Magnaflow.
Mine didn't have a name on it so I'm not sure what brand it was. I'm sure Allen will know what kind it is, I had the same as he did.
I'm sure you will like the sound with the glasspack, I did. In fact, I am going to remove the Magnaflow and put another glasspack on the car. Still not that happy with the Magnaflow even with the headers.

Cool. What's your opinion of this?

Tempting because of the price, I'm just worried about longevity.
Ours were red.
That one looks OK. IIRC, Midas/Mineke (sp) installed the one on my car. It was on the car when I got it.
When I was looking for new ones they were around $35., can't find the website that I was referring to at the moment.
I'll go through my car file and see if I can get you the model number.

Thanks Phil....I mean Chris. You rock.
:)
It was from Meineke.
The part number is ST4018 (MAR). The price was $37.99.
Honestly, I just don't think you will be happy with the Magnaflow, it certainly made my car quiet.

My glasspack is on for YEARS with no signs of deterioration  . Still sounds great too . I'm glad as heck I didn't go with the Magnaflow resonator , as I wasn't at all planning on doing headers . I'll look tomorrow at work to see if I have the dimentions & part # for ya . I don't have that here at home ... sorry :o .
I'd plan on going with a quality glasspack instead of the Magnaflow resonator . I saw first-hand how disappointed Christine was with the initial sound :( . The main deal with the glasspack is to make sure it's straight-through / non-baffled , and like I said before - go with quality , that way it doesn't rust out or fall apart .

So does anyone have sound clips of these? Cause I too have the urge to change my exhaust. I've gone from wanting the Trubendz with Magnaflow's, to Bosal, to up for suggestions. Sound clips of the glasspacks would sure help. Thanks.

It's not fart can loud but definetly not stealth mode either. It doesn't have that raspy fart can sound either.
I don't have an exhaust clip as I have changed my exhaust. I now have Magnaflow mufflers with 3 1/2 double wall tips and a Magnaflow muffler in place of my glasspack. The magnaflow (resonator) will be gone soon and replaced with another glasspack. I don't think Allen has a sound clip either, I could be wrong though. His mufflers/tips are the same as mine but he kept his glasspack.

Would this Meineke glasspack work with my SE exhaust also? I have been thinking about an exhaust mod for quite some time now.
Oh yea, good news! I debadged my contour lettering from the trunk. Looks a lot cleaner now and the trunk lines flow smoother. It only took some fishing line, warm water, wax, and patience. :) Now when anyone pulls up behind me they will have no idea what kind of car it is. As long as they don't think it's an escort. Ha ha!

Awww shizzle , I forgot to get that into for ya , Scott :troutslap: . Sorry :o .
No , I don't have any soundclips of it - no capabilities at the moment :( . It sounds pretty darn good , IMHO . At idle , it has a much more pronounced rumble than stock (if ya can hear the stock exhaust ;) ) , and a nice growl up through the gears without being ricey or obnoxious . Interior sound is great with an aggressive tone with no drone (even after 11 hrs. on the highway , trust me ;) ) - you can still carry on a conversation ... if you want to ;) . I've been happy with the glasspack from day one , even with the stock SVT mufflers .
Yes , Aaron - the glasspack mod will work with your stock SE exhaust too . It just adds a bit of "good" noise to you ride  .

i really liked the sound of the borla... at least from the video that Goonz posted a while back... thats actually what i was planning on getting...
I was planning on eventually going headers(or gutted precats) -> bat high flow cat (yes im going to put it back in) -> borla...
or would it be better to go precats->current Y (without main cat)->borla/bosal

Very cool Aaron! Now if we can get MattR to keep the "Contour" off of his trunk lid...;)

I completly agree. Definetly has a nice rumble to it even with keeping the stock mufflers.

That's my plan (at least to start with ;) ), use a glasspack combined with the stock SVT mufflers. At least until my precats go, then ........hmmmmmm?:ponder:
Thanks guys, and gals!
I don't think you'll be disappointed Scott.
Let us know.

Unfortunately , the exact manufacturer of the glasspack cannot be read on the sticker anymore :( , but the part# is 87510 . It's deep red in color , 23" long and has 2½ inlet & outlet .
Sorry I don't remember who made it , but that oughta get ya goin' .
