I've been lurking around this forum for a few months, and finally got a hold of a Contour SVT, i'll be picking it up on Friday. I'll post some pics after is all buffed and cleaned. I sold my 01 Roush Mustang Convertible a couple weeks ago, and needed something fun to drive, so I went with a Contour SVT. Look forward to talking with you people.

Welcome and congrats on your CSVT purchase.

Post up a picture of the Roush Mustang. Of course, as soon as you get the SVT cleaned up, we want a shot of that too. :)

As the others have said, search the forums, read all that you can and you will learn lots.

Here's some pics of the car I just sold, my dear Roush. I'm picking up the CSVT tomorrow and giving it the cleaning of it's life Friday, then I'll post some pics.

Excellent! You'll be just fine around here then. :)

  on the Roush. Love it!

Good luck with the cleaning.

Two more things, keep the coolant a half inch above the max line (finicky coolant sensor). For the oil, most people add 6 to 6 1/2 quarts to help with the oil starvation issues on long sweeping right hand turns. ;)

Welcome, glad to have you. I'm a big fan of Roush products, nice Mustang. What color did you buy? Any mods that you can see on the car? What's the mileage? Oh and if you want to find out your build number, call 1-800-FORD-SVT and have your VIN # handy.

Thanks for the great comments guys. I was able to buy my Roush for a great deal, and just couldn't pass up on selling when the time was right. I'll be getting married soon, buying a house. . blah blah blah, so it was time for my first dream car to go bye bye. I'm hoping that this contour SVT will just add a quarter of the fun back into driving that I had in the Roush. In six months, i'll probably be looking for another Roush anyway. . .

To answer a few questions, the new car is black with blue interior. I'm very interested in trying to get more information regarding the original build sheet and other information regarding the CSVT. It was more than a pain in the ass to get information from Roush, so hopefully this will be a better experience!

Well the csvt is fun to drive, expecially when modded. Just keep in mind they are older cars and things do go wrong, syncro's,diffs arent strong at all, axels, ect...
To get your build # you need the last 6 or 8 (cant remember:shrug: ) of the vin and call 1-800-fordsvt (1-800-367-3788) and they will give you the build #. Then you can pay for the sheet (they charge now).

Fiances dad did the same thing back when he got married. Only the cars were a 70 Shelby GT500 vert, 69 boss, 67 stang fastback, etc etc. So you better buy a new one or you will be kicking yourself for a long time coming.

yes, the car was bought from your buddy Joe D. in Kentucky. i believe he owned a contour svt prior to owning the roush. I didn't do too much to the mustang before I sold it, just a few more performance mods and that's it. If he wants it back, its in Missouri now!

while I had the mustang, I put the Roush Classic Shifter in, got a custom tune done for 93 octane, put some underdrive pullies on and I think that's it. Car was noticably faster after the custom tune, but I never got it dyno tuned. I had the car for just short of a year, and put about 6000 miles on it. I live in Illinois (St. Louis Area) now, I sold the car to a guy that lives just west of St. Louis City in Missouri.
