Hi everyone!

First, let me just say this site is AWESOME. Wish I'd found it YEARS ago!

I'm the owner of my second 98 SVT. The first was Silver Frost, and I stupidly traded it on a 2004 Mazda RX-8 - lots of fun, just not an SVT. Well, I missed it so much that I bought another a few weeks ago. It's T-Red, #988. It needs LOTS of love! Whoever owned it took really spectacular care of the engine, but let the exterior and interior go to crap. I've got to replace suspension parts immediately, which I knew was going to be necessary soon, but I didn't think I'd have to do it right now! I'll be looking in the classifieds for lots of little stuff, I'm sure.

I look forward to making lots of friends and hopefully helping some folks out while getting some advice myself.

We'll be talking!

Sarah

Welcome Sarah!! :)

I was wondering when you'd post in here.

Have you started cleaning up the interior? I bet that SVT is going to look outstanding when you get done with it.

Good luck with the cleaning/replacing/repairing.

Post a picture when you have a chance.

Hi Andy -

My mother-in-law lives in Girvan. She sure loves it there!

Thanks for the welcome!

My husband told me that he's convinced that the previous owner was a Yeti because the hairballs that we pulled out were INCREDIBLY huge!

We've pretty much got the interior up to spec - pulled the console out, and cleaned as much as we could reach. The paint is pretty oxidized, unfortunately. We'd pretty much decided to repaint it eventually anyway, but I was hoping it would have been taken better care of.

We've already put a new CD player and speakers in (the factory speakers were all blown) and we're going to order suspension parts from BAT within a few weeks.

Hopefully all will be well with the suspension before winter hits. Or, if we haven't sold the RX-8 by then, I'll just drive it if it gets nasty out.

As soon as we get a few more cosmetic issues fixed with the outside, I'll post a few pics. As it is, there's nothing but stock T-Red SVT.... I'm sure everyone knows what they look like!! ;)

Talk to you soon!

Sarah

The rotory engine is like communism...in theory it works. :) Welcome back to SVT land. Enjoy the stay here.
