This 1998 Ford Contour SVT has been mine for about 8 months, during which time I've driven the car for commuting. I like the car, and its very clean, but I've since bought a Camaro to play with, and an Escort for going back and forth to work, so the Contour doesn't fit into the picture(or the driveway!) at this point.
The car has new springs and struts front and rear as of this spring. I put snow tires that I have for the car on the car recently as well, they are in good shape, the rear tires are all seasons, also in good shape. The car is unmolested, and was adult owned until me (if 23 doesn't count as adult-enough!) and driven on the highway. The mileage is high, 147,XXX but do not be alarmed, the car runs and drives excellent. Shortly after rolling over 100k, the transmission was rebuilt and a new clutch installed. It shifts well, and the clutch is great. The engine runs fine as well, no smoking, miss-firing, just 28mpg and a smooth pull to redline when needed. The car runs very strong, its a lot of fun to drive. The interior is well kept, no tears, the original SVT mats are missing. Stock speakers with a Pioneer CD deck. I also have a nice set of front headlight blackouts that look great.
The car isn't perfect, the passengers side skirt is missing from the rear jackpoint to the rear tire, about 4-5 inches of skirt, the rest is intacts. There are a few small scratches and dings here and there, it is an 8 year old car. The shift linkage is not as tight as a new car, a cable adjustment can solve that. The motor mounts are also getting worn, again, it is an 8 yr old car, and is priced as such. The stock resonator has been removed, and a K&N air filter has been added. It sounds great, without being loud, obnoxious, or buzzy.
