Does the cougar 5 speed bolt right up to the svt contour?

as long as they are both have the same engine, ie zetec or duratec ...

There could be a minor difference that you need to account for. IIRC, depending on wht year the Cougar is, the speed sensor is mounted in a different location. I understand there is a short wiring jumper loom to resolve this issue.
Maybe someone else knows more about this issue.

Any one know if the IIRC will be a issue? It is a 1999 Cougar Trans.

IIRC is an acronym for "If I Remember/Recall Correctly", not a part of your tranny.

I think he read what Jim had to say and didn't know about the acronym, which is more than understandable for someone who's not familiar with teh interweb. I'm already starting to feel old because I'm seeing acronyms I'm not familiar with :( At least I'm not bald yet.
