bought the SVT not to long ago and i belive the rack and pinnion needs to be raplced or does it? everytime i start the cars or turn the wheel it makes a really bad whineing noise and it leaks power stearing fluid like a river. Are these symptoms of the rack going bad? or the power stearing pump going bad?

ROTFL. Clean the bottom pan well and toss some talcuum powder on the pan (bottom and side). Then determine where the leak is coming from.

its power stearinf fluid...(from the power stearing pump)

The pump is mounted in the "V" at the upper front of the engine. When it leaks, it is usually from the front seal and it makes the engine timing cover wet.

You really do need to see where it is leaking from. Power steering hoses don't give much trouble with our cars, but don't go throwing a pump on it if the rack is leaking.
