INDICATIONS:
Parking Brake - Parking brake sticks and binds - does not release -
vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes.

APPLICATION:
95-98 Contour/Mystique.
For Kansas City assembly plant vehicles built through 1/20/97 and
Cautitlan assembly plant vehicles built through 2/28/97.

PROBLEM:
The parking brake on vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes may stick
and/or bind when attempting to release and/or may not release at all on
some vehicles.  This may be due to water entering the cable and freezing.

SOLUTION:
Replace the parking brake cables and release springs.  The revised cables
have an integral seal to reduce the possibility of water entering the
cable.

PROCEDURE:
Install the parking brake cable service kit (F6RZ-2A635-AA) following the
instruction sheet included in the kit.
